CONSTRUCTION: FILMING THE 360 SCENE

Today I was in charge of filming an extreme high angle, 360 degree shot. This was a scene of the protagonist reading her book. The reason circling the girl with the camera is to give the effect to the viewer that she has been reading the book for a long time.

As well as filming this I also came up with the idea of taking loads of shots to make a stop motion sequence in our film. I have taken responsibility for taking the photos and editing this on iMovie. Although it may not go in our final film it shows that we have different creative ideas for our final short film.

Here is the sequence:

As well as filming this scene I was also in charge of providing the location for this scene and props such as the book.

CONSTRUCTION: FEEDBACK

After showing the Bedroom Scene to a group of people who fit our target audience they gave us feedback. They said that they liked the camera angles that we used such as the pan shot of the girl touching her makeup. They also liked the shot of the girl in the mirror as this gave an 'exciting' way to show her.

Although we got a lot of good feedback there was some negative feedback about the phone call. They said that it was very boring to listen and watch. Therefore we have decided that we should change this so that it is more interesting for the viewer. To do this we have decided to not use a script so that she seems more relaxed. We have also decided to use a variety of cut away shots when editing for example close ups of her mouth. This means that there will be exciting camera angles and also different things going on, rather than simply watching her on the phone.

NARRATIVE THEORIES

Today we looked at narrative theories. I have created a YuDu to present my research of five different narrative theories and how they relate to our short film.
