CONSTRUCTION: FILMING THE DATE SCENE FIRST TIME FEEDBACK

We met up to film the date scene. This scene was located at my house and in my back garden. We created a mise-en-scene of a posh pub restaurant. The way that we did this was by having a small table laid out with glasses of wine and a table cloth to make it seem like it was posh. We also had a waitress dressed in an overall so that she would look professional for the mise-en-scene.

After filming this scene our focus group had said that the filming was way too dark and we agreed.  This was due to the poor lighting, because the filming was outside it got dark very quickly. We have decided to do this scene again and learnt from our mistakes of not having extra lighting.

Another problem with this filming was that the quality of the dialogue was not that good due to the fact that we could not get a microphone. Therefore when we refilm this we will also take this into consideration.

I created a Animoto to show the mise-en-scene which was extremely successful and to also show the mistake that we made of not having artificial lighting and how this made our filming poor.

What went well/wrong with our first filming

  1. Articulate reflection on the filming process, including lighting and sound issues.
The set looks convincing: you took responsibility for finding and dressing the set; well done.
